Hello Friends and Welcome to Meat Disneyland
On my last trip to Texas we had fulfilled all the weeks previously planned obligations and now were staying as those family members who just kinda linger that extra day. But as we relaxed, drank and talked it was nice to be the only ones left. That last night with our happily granted freedom from weekly festivities we decided to head out on the town. And what do you do with freedom to roam in any town? You eat; obviously. Our family took us to Coopers BBQ in Fort Worth. A carnivores wet dream. It looked something like a stretched tin barn/saloon with a sign a blind man couldn’t miss from a mountain top. You walk in and right there on the wall is their menu… which consists of 16 types/cuts of meat… oh and a baked potato. We got there a little after 6 which meant two things…we had the place almost to ourselves and there were only two meats left on the menu. Yup, by 6pm their entire days worth of meat was sold out. (That’s my tip to you to get there early) But the two that were left were absolutely amazing. I’d say the most flavorful meat I’ve probably ever tried.
So you walk in, point at your hunk of caracas, they dip it into a bath of lord knows what delicious smelling sauces, and hand it on over with tender loving care like a they just gifted you a small child. Scroll down the only hallway to a few sides (Get the spicy mac and cheese, one of the best I’ve ever had) and check out. Once you head into the eating area, you’re greeted with free bread, dips, sauces, and beans. Not to mention the toddler size jar of Hot Jalapeño Peppers on every table. This is a family style place so pick a meat cutter, and a sides scooper, and begin your journey into meat Disneyland. Let me know how it goes.
