How to start your day on a HAPPY note

No matter your life circumstances, we all have *those* days. When you wake up annoyed. Like not even puppy youtube videos would perk your day up and you can feel deep down it will probably just head down hill from there. You’re now just counting down the hours until its appropriate to start drinking then fall asleep. We can’t avoid these random down days but there’s no reason every other day shouldn’t be happy and successful. But how do you make sure you start each day on a happy note?

1. Make a To Do list.

While you sip your morning coffee sit in a quiet room and create your To Do list for the day. The day can get hectic quickly and often filled with so many tasks you don’t know where to start. By creating a to do list in the morning, you have your own play by play to follow and complete throughout the day making sure not to forget a thing.

2. Drink lots of water.

Should be a common thing I know but not drinking enough water can leave you lagging, tired, bloated, and dehydrated. A large glass of water in the morning before your coffee will not only help your metabolism kick start but also help to wake you up.

3. Jam session.

Nothing can change my mood like a tune. Whether I want to be happy, motivated, woken up, even sad sometimes, a solid Jam sesh can always put me in the mood. Finish the second half of your coffee with a little dancing and jammin out to wake you up, get your blood flowing and get you pumped for the day.

4. Get dressed and feel good about it.

Honestly as someone who works from home it is so easy to get into the routine of throwing on yoga pants and a crew neck in the morning. But guess what, “sweatpants, hair tied, chillin with no make-up” does not make you the prettiest, it turns you into a lazy bum. It’s easy to fall into this bad habit, so getting dressed in something you feel great and confident in puts you in the mood for success for the rest of the day.

5. Smile.

Did you know that when you use your face muscles to smile it sends a message to your brain that you’re happy? Now imagine waking up and throwing your gorgeous smile out into the world. Maybe even add a giggle in there. Your smile could not only perk up your day but really make someone else’s as well. In the first hour you’re awake try and smile or find something to smile over to start your day off on a happy note.

So don’t spend your day waiting for wine hour. Start it with a smile and let 5 o’clock just be the cherry on top. Don’t forget about all the wonderful people in your life and remember to enjoy the little things.
