8 Detoxifying Snacks to cleanse your body

During this past winter I went through a “please make me skinny” tea detox called Tiny TeaTox  from YourTea. It was a great detox tea but honestly once it hits summer, the last thing I want is a twice a day hot tea. On top of that, I feel like every time I get on Instagram or Facebook, there is some new amazing detox tea/drink you must try! When it comes down to it anything to detox your body is a great weekly choice but what better way to naturally detox than through the foods you’re eating. Here are 8 healthy snacks that naturally help your body rid of bad toxins and get you to your healthiest self!

Grapefruit – Tart and refreshing grapefruit is great for flushing out the liver. Grapefruit is a great addition to your daily water intake to give it a little extra flavor.

Watermelon – Oh the fruit of the gods. I LOVE watermelon. Blend it, cut it up, salt it, freeze it, cocktail it 😉 doesn’t matter watermelon is a treat in my book. While watermelon helps flush the body it’s also a great snack mostly made of water and low in calories.

Lemon Water – Lemon water helps to fight cravings, flush out toxins, decreases blemishes and more! A great addition to your daily water intake.

Pineapple – Pineapple aids in a healthy digestion, preventing constipation and bloating. Oh and it tastes amazing!

Avocado – If you haven’t been living under a rock for the last 20years I’m sure you are among the avocado “good fat” craze. But along with its delicious meaty inside, avocados are packed full of vitamins that remove bile from your gallbladder. This allows toxins to flush out of your body while absorbing the good fats of the avocado.

Smoothies/Juicing – Throw in some kale, turmeric, ginger and more and you’ll be detoxing through a delicious fruit concoction. Try this orange ginger juice to kick off your detox!

Asparagus – Packed full of antioxidants, asparagus can neutralize cell-damaging free radicals. Top your salad with chopped asparagus or serve along side fish for dinner.

Celery- Fun Fact: You burn more calories eating celery than you take in from eating it. Celery reduces acidity from the body, alkalizing the body from the acidic foods you intake. This helps to regulate the body.

BONUS: Beetroot – If you’ve ever read my blog you know I LOVE beetroot. Yes it tastes delicious, yes you can use it for a huge variety of dishes, but lets be serious I love it because it makes your recipes a bright pink color! Full of nutritional fiber and antioxidants beetroot is the favorite of my detox snacks.
