The coronavirus pandemic has got everyone staying at home and this after a bit, can become tiring. I miss Italy’s beauty, the irresistible food, the people, culture, and everything Italian. Not forgetting the awesome architecture, diverse scenery and unparalleled art are among the charms that entice visitors to visit the country. Visiting Italy can almost overwhelm you and to get the absolute utmost out of your trip have a camera-worthy phone to capture the memories and make your visit remarkable. Here are my top pick places I want to visit as soon as I’m able to go.

Napoli

Napoli is a glorious city tattered in its beauty. Winding cobblestone streets welcome you to this seaside capital, authentic pizza and real Italian flavors will give you a true taste of Italy. Among the infamous Italian ports, is Port of Naples well known for tourist cruises and highly ranked for its importance in imports and exports. Home to awesome attractions such as cathedrals, castles, a palace and churches grace this UNESCO World Heritage site. Take a stroll to Museo Archeologico and you will be amazed by the extraordinary collection of antiques and artifacts discovered from the ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum.

Ostuni

It is one of Puglia’s enclaved and most picturesque tiny towns. Ostuni is nicknamed as the White City due to its whitewashed buildings. Come in the summer when families spill out in the streets to enjoy meals under the balmy evening sun and you see Italy at its purest. This beautiful town is celebrated for its ancient defensive walls, cathedral and labyrinthine streets.

Lucca

This historic city has immense city walls that date backs from centuries and are a popular spot for runners and cyclists. The narrow streets offer visitors the chance to discover the city on foot while admiring the grand architecture. Lucca is a must-see city on any Italian itinerary!

Padova

Padova is a medieval city-state and is home to an ancient university. Scrovegni Chapel and Basilica di Sant’Antonio are among the biggest attractions in this city. Lovely parks and gardens grace this town and it has a lot to offer from villas to visit, boat trips and thermal spas.

Matera 

Matera, Basilicata is nestled in a corner in southern Italy and it is one of the most unique and spectacular places to visit in the world. Walkthrough the sassi neighborhoods which are curved out of limestone while drinking an aperitivo. Today Matera is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a European Capital of Culture.

Italy is an amazing country and welcomes us all back once it is safe to travel, meanwhile, we can cook Italian dishes at home!
